Regular Supper Club Event

7 for 7.30pm at Cogglesford Mill, every last Friday of the month

Talking to some Independents from around the County, we thought we would like to restart our Last Friday in the month supper club, just as a chance to give support and socialise, to add strength to Independents. I hope you would enjoy coming along to Cogglesford Mill on the last Friday at 7 for 7.30pm.  We have booked a fair choice of food with coffee in pleasant surroundings, offered as a special to us for £12. The restaurant has limited places, so James Baldwin is kindly keeping count, so please let him or me know.

National Conference for Independents

Monday November 21st is the National Conference for Independents. Free.

Local Government House in Smiths’ Square, Westminster SW1P 3HZ  (Contact 0207 664 3206, Maggie Sullivan.)  This is always a really good event with a healthy buzz of lively people and interesting national speakers.  Topics included changes in local planning, proposed changes in health delivery and community safety following the introduction of directly elected pollice commissioners.  We had an excellent turnout with a packed hall for the day conference and a busy reception as guests of the newly made Lord Mayor of London, an Independent as they all are. Next year it will be at the end of October 2012.

Kind Regards,

Marianne

Stanhope Hall, Horncastle

We had a  very good turnout of Independents to support Bill Aron at the opening celebratory event on Stanhope Hall, Horncastle. This historic building was planned for demolition but the community stepped in in a big way. Congratulations to Bill Aron and the team for their magnificent efforts to create a thriving business community and social use for people; a showcase for us all. Why not pop along and have a look now it is open daily. Stanhope Hall Location: LN9 6NF

Visit to Bempton Cliffs

We had an excellent coach trip in June to see the spectacular seabird colonies at our feet. On our gruided tour along the cliff edge we were fascinated to hear about the lives of the gannets, Kittiwakes and puffins, in large numbers on the cliff, but they now have to travel huge distances to distant feeding grounds.
