On the value of Independents in democracy...
“The new politics is about representation of people and not so much party ideology.
There is a mood afoot that is questioning whether it is possible and necessary for democracy to be refreshed by the process of free debate and action in the interests of the public at both local and national levels.
Independent councillors, MP’s and cross benchers are critical in pushing the boundaries of what this debate is about, and more importantly they are crucial in refreshing our democracy and reconnecting it with the interests of the people”

A message from Chris Brewis in support of Cllr Marianne Overton.
"I have seen Marianne's tireless efforts on behalf of independent councillors and candidates over the past six years, and I think it is no accident that Lincolnshire is now regarded as a leading light in the LGA independent network.
Marianne has proved an inspiration to all those with whom she comes into contact.
I strongly support her, and her efforts both locally, regionally and nationally make her uniquely qualified to lead the Independent councillor group on the LGA.
She has my unqualified support, and I urge all those of you who know either Marianne (many of you) or me (rather less of you) to vote for her in the LGA Independent poll, now taking place."
